Jashpur Goes Digital: Pay Taxes from Home via QR Code*
Raipur/Citizens in the Jashpur Municipal Council area of Chhattisgarh will no longer need to visit government offices to pay taxes. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday launched HDFC Bank’s ‘Digital Door Facility’, enabling residents to pay water tax, property tax, and shop tax conveniently from home by scanning a QR code.
Under this new system, HDFC Bank has generated a dedicated QR code for Jashpur Municipality. Each household has been assigned a unique QR code, which is being affixed door-to-door. The QR code contains complete details, including the property owner’s name, house number, mobile number, and outstanding tax amount. Citizens can scan the code to view their dues using the DDN number, mobile number, or property ID, and make secure payments through UPI, debit card, or net banking. A digital receipt is generated instantly after payment.
The Property Tax Information System implemented in Jashpur Municipality is a modern ICT-based solution designed to make revenue collection transparent, simple, and efficient. Currently, around 4,600 households have been brought under this system, covering residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
This initiative is expected to save citizens both time and effort while improving transparency and efficiency in municipal operations. The adoption of digital payment systems will accelerate revenue collection and further strengthen urban governance.
On the occasion, Zila Panchayat President Shri Salik Sai, Municipal Council Vice Chairman Shri Yash Pratap Singh Judev, Shri Krishna Rai, Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, HDFC Bank Regional Manager Shri Sharafat Ali, Branch Manager Shri Deepak Das, and other public representatives and officials were present.
