Crackdown on Domestic LPG Misuse: 214 Raids, 1,013 Cylinders Seized
Raipur, The Food Department and district administrations in the state are taking strict action to prevent misuse of domestic LPG cylinders. So far, 214 raids have been conducted and 1,013 cylinders seized, including 392 in Raipur and 201 in Bilaspur.
During a review meeting on Tuesday, Food Secretary Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale directed officials and oil companies to widely publicise LPG online booking facilities through WhatsApp, mobile numbers, IVRS and websites. Special emphasis was placed on spreading awareness about Indian Oil’s new booking numbers (Mobile: 8927225667, IVRS: 8391990070).
She also instructed that pending LPG bookings be cleared quickly, adding that cylinder supply has been increased across districts to ensure consumers do not face inconvenience.
In line with guidelines of the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, a balanced and priority-based distribution system for commercial LPG has been implemented to ensure uninterrupted supply to essential services such as hospitals, educational institutions, defence and paramilitary camps, jails, hostels, welfare institutions, railway stations and airports.
For LPG booking or supply-related complaints, the Food Department call centre (1800-233-3663 and 1967) is operational to ensure prompt resolution in coordination with oil companies.
