Chhattisgarh Prepares to Turn Cooperative Week into a Mass Movement with Statewide Events
*Cooperative Week to Be Celebrated from June 29 to July 6 to Mark Five Years of the Union Ministry of Cooperation*
*CM Shri Sai to attend the State-Level Cooperative Chintan Camp and Sahakar Mela as Chief Guest in Raipur*
Raipur, /To mark the completion of five years of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, Cooperative Week will be celebrated across the country from June 29 to July 6, 2026. In Chhattisgarh, a series of programmes will be organised to promote prosperity, self-reliance and rural development through cooperation. The state-level Cooperative Chintan Camp, Sahakar Mela, International Cooperative Day celebrations and cooperative seminars will be organised during the week. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will attend the programme as the Chief Guest, while Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap will preside over the event.
During Cooperative Week, various activities will be organised by all 2,573 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), as well as dairy, fisheries, weavers', and other cooperative societies across the state. Major activities will include cooperative flag hoisting, membership drives, distribution of Micro ATMs, Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) and RuPay KCC cards, plantation drives, soil testing, farmers' seminars and discussions on the role of FPOs and PACS.
On July 6, 2026, the Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation will lay the foundation stones for a warehouse in nine PACS under the world's largest decentralised grain storage scheme in the cooperative sector.
The State-Level Cooperative Chintan Camp, Sahakar Mela, International Cooperative Day celebration and Cooperative Seminar will be organised on July 3 and 4, 2026, at the Krishi Mandapam Auditorium in the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya campus, Labhandi, Raipur. The programme will witness participation from PACS, dairy, fisheries, minor forest produce, weavers and other cooperative societies, along with national institutions such as NABARD, NCDC, NCCF, NAFED, CSC, IFFCO, KRIBHCO and the State Cooperative Union.
The Sahakar Mela will showcase achievements, innovations and successful models from the cooperative sector. Special activities will also be organised to connect farmers, women's groups, dairy producers, fish farmers, weavers and rural entrepreneurs with various cooperative schemes.
Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap recently chaired a meeting, reviewed preparations for the successful organisation of Cooperative Week, and directed all concerned institutions and committees to ensure active participation and to take the cooperative movement to every section of society. A detailed discussion was held regarding the programme framework, participation and successful conduct of various activities. During the meeting, all participants resolved to strengthen the cooperative movement further and to ensure the successful organisation of Cooperative Week with broad public participation. The officer of the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank (Apex Bank), the Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Federation (MARKFED), the chairmen of various Zila Sahakari Kendriya Banks, and representatives of Apex Bank and MARKFED were present in the meeting .
